The Process - A brief summary for your understanding

  • Firstly before anything we must obtain measurements of all areas that will be soon to begin work, depending on the state of the property this may require a bit of demolition if it is remodel job. If not then we would measure the areas and move onto providing the quantities of material needed to order, this includes tile, slab, stone, and brick.

  • During the process of awaiting material we take the time to prep all areas that will be worked on. Bathrooms typically begin with 60 Minute Jumbo paper (water/moister damage prevention) a layer of lath to receive a scratch and brown coat of cement for the most durability, after we apply a layer of HydroBan (waterproofing and crack prevention) to enhance the strength and waterproof our cement walls.

  • Once all surfaces are prepped we are ready to begin installation, typically there are drawings provided by designers but we have worked with homeowners freely to follow their visions, of course this does mean more on sight presence and approval before beginning installation to ensure everything goes according to plan.

  • Lastly, we clean all grout joints to make sure the grout can enter and maintain strong structure to prevent delay deterioration. Grouting is the most important and delicate as it’s the final finish. Finally we seal all tile and slab surfaces with Dry-Treat Stain-Proof Premium Impregnating Sealer and let it soak into porous slab and tiles as well as grout so that it can be resistant to water or oil based stains, ensuring your tile or slab maintain a cleaner look for longer.
